Didn't get a run in today (Monday) due mostly to lack of sleep and the fact that I've spent roughly the past twenty-four hours cleaning and doing laundry. Still a long way to go in that regard, but making measurable progress. Additionally, my achilles tendons were happy for the break from the ever-present hills.

Ok, this was a doozy. I skipped running yesterday because I wasn't feeling particularly well and I had a VERY late start to the day. I even skipped sleep last night. At any rate, I went running at about 7 this morning after plotting the route on a map. Total distance 9.44 miles, time of 1:24:13. The route was dangerous. Lots of places had me running on 4-lane highways with no shoulder whatsoever and down the centerline in blind curves. I rather doubt I'll use this route again any time soon. Either way, hopefully it at least partially makes up for yesterday's laziness. The route can be viewed here:

This was today's run. It took me 53 minutes and 12 seconds, but in my defense: click the tab that says "show elevation". That shit was rough.

Just trying to get back into shape.

What I mean to say is, a shape that is not reminiscent of a pear. I'm actually in pretty good shape compared to humanity at large, even athletic shape, but I want to be skinny again. The primary purpose of this blog will be as a sort of record for mileage run and a bit of a friendly competition.
